The second patch 'corrects' the docs using Arigo's description.

This should make it easy to close this one by someone who
can make a good estimate of the usefullness of these values
to anyone.

Reinhold, do you want to verify the patch's accuracy and
then apply it?

Also, for documentation patches, be sure to verify the TeX
markup by running python -m texcheck -m ref3.tex.
