We should find a way to integrate Andrew Kuchling's
"What's new in Python X.Y?" documents with the
corresponding Python documentation to make it easier to
locate for users.

This could be done either by incorporating the document
into the standard documentation package (preferred for
off-line users) or by adding a link to the online
version of the document.

This should be done in time for Python 2.3.

Could you do this for 2.2.1 too?

Andrew, can you add the 2.2 document as
Doc/whatsnew/whatsnew22.tex? Once this is done, re-assign
to me to complete the integration steps.

Thanks!

Raised priority since Guido wants this in 2.2.1, and its
coming up soon.

I've already filed a request to add my CVS files to the
repository.

When is 2.2.1 supposed to be wrapped for final release? Do
I have another week?

If it can be done by sometime next weekend, that should be
good enough for me. I think we're shooting for the
following Tuesday for the release, so I'll probably be
finishing the formatting on Monday.

Michael Hudson should correct me if I'm wrong on the
schedule. ;-)

Sheesh, this is the third time I've attempted to follow up to
this report.

Yes, 2.2.1 will be released on or about the ninth of April.

SourceForge has carried out my support request, so if you do
an update in Docs/whatsnew, you'll pick up
whatsnew{20,21,22}.tex. Reassigning to Fred.

I'll add a note to whatsnew-22 about 2.2.1.

Is it worth doing the same integration for 2.0 and 2.1?

Integration complete for 2.2 maintenance releases.

There's no need to integrate older releases unless we're
still expecting anyone to upgrade to them from something
even older.
