Makefile.pre.in and Mac/OSX/Makefile still use Tools/idle as
the source from which they install idle in stead of the new
Lib/idletools.

I'm mainly putting this bug report in the database so we
don't forget to fix this before 2.3b2.

Kurt, can you take a look at this?

And, Kurt, could you please assign to me when Makefile.pre.in is
done, so I can fix Mac/OSX/Makefile? (unless you want to give
that a go too:-)

Jack, I've got Makefile.pre.in mostly done,
(there's a problem installing the icons). I was
going to do exactly what you suggest: look at
Mac/OSX/Makefile and /maybe/ make a first try,
then assign this to you.

Kurt, can this bug be closed?

Guido finished this off over the weekend and
IDLE installs fine on Linux. There may be some
remaining issues on Windows with the icons and
the location/composition of the 'idle' scripts. (I
can't build on Windows yet.)

I see you've done some work on the Mac side.
I'm going to pass it off to you at this point.

Thanks for the help!

I'm happy with it as it is now, so I'll close it.
