I think there is a bug in the "Build and C API Changes"
section of the "what's new in 2.3" document:
  http://www.python.org/doc/2.3/whatsnew/node20.html

It lists a set of changes to the garbage collection C
API, but the changes mentioned look like the ones made
in Python 2.2a3.

Hm... you're right.  I've moved this text into the 2.2 What's New 
document.  The HTML version on the python.org will be updated 
whenever Fred regenerates the documentation (probably when 2.3.1 is 
released).
